All Brisbane train lines will be running on a special timetable to accommodate for the closures. Rail buses are in place but delays are expected on all lines until the end of the week, while track closures will remain in place for the Beenleigh and Gold Coast/Airport line until January 18.
The late December early January closure schedule was chosen as according to data from 2023 a quarter less trips were taken in the week beginning January 9th compared to early March. Commuters are urged to plan for delays and check for updates online or through the Translink app.
