Cricket Ipswich has announced a key leadership change following the appointment of Simon Emmerson as General Manager. Emmerson has resigned as President, effective 28 February 2025, but will continue to serve on the Cricket Ipswich Board as a General Board Member.
The Board acknowledged Emmerson’s contributions, having first joined as Treasurer in February 2022 before being elected President in August 2022. His leadership has been instrumental in the growth and development of cricket in the Ipswich region.
With Emmerson stepping into the General Manager role, Paul Newlove has been appointed as President until the 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Newlove, a former Centrals Cricket Club player, brings a wealth of experience from his involvement in Fassifern region cricket and junior development programs across the Cricket Ipswich catchment area.
Cricket Ipswich has confirmed that nominations for the President role will be sought at the AGM, with the date to be announced in due course.
The Board has encouraged the cricket community to congratulate Paul Newlove on his appointment and support him in leading Cricket Ipswich into its next chapter.
