Ipswich creative Willow has released a new fantasy novel, adding another string to the bow of the local artist and Arts Connect member.
The book, titled Elision, is the first in a planned three-part series called Opera Tales. Willow said the story has been about four years in the making and is set in a futuristic world that has collapsed back into a medieval-style society.
The novel follows the son of a powerful overlord as he tries to make his way home, with revenge and retribution forming part of the larger story. While the book includes murder, family betrayal and mystery, Willow described it as more light-hearted than gothic.
The three-book series has already been completed, with Willow hoping to release the remaining books before Christmas.
Willow said many of the names in the book were inspired by Italian musical terms, while the title Opera Tales comes from a moon called Opera within the story’s fictional universe.
