The All Ability Hour, broadcast every Saturday on West Bremer Radio, featured another heartwarming and informative episode this week, shining a light on inclusive community care, disability housing, and the incredible stories of local participants.

Broadcast from the green couches of Focal Community Services in Ipswich, hosts Sparky and Patty welcomed Julia from Ipswich Holistic Community Care (IHCC) to discuss the organisation’s work providing supported independent living (SIL), specialist disability accommodation (SDA), and short to medium-term housing for people with disability.

“We work closely with families, support coordinators, and providers to find or create housing solutions tailored to participants’ needs,” Julia said.
“Our unofficial motto is: if we can make it work, we will.”

IHCC currently has SDA and SIL vacancies across Flinders View, Redbank, Burpengary, and Logan, and Julia encouraged anyone with NDIS funding—or even just an inquiry—to get in touch through ihcc.com.au or by phoning 0425 197 073.

💬 Real Stories: Kayla’s Courage and Care Bear Love

Listeners also heard from Kayla, a long-time Focal client, who lives with low vision and ongoing health complications from a rare tropical illness.

Despite her challenges, Kayla brought joy to the segment with her stories of collecting lifelike baby dolls, playing Nintendo Switch, and spending time with her niece, who she lovingly shared, “steals all my Care Bears.”

She finished the segment with a shoutout to her best friends:

“I’d like to say hi to Montana and Crystal!”
