Division 2 is gearing up for a bumper festive season as Christmas in Ipswich celebrations roll out across Springfield and surrounding suburbs.
Residents have already felt the Christmas cheer, with Santa making an early appearance at Orion Springfield Central’s Arrival Parade on 8 November. The region’s biggest community celebration, the Springfield Carols, returns to Robelle Domain on Saturday 13 December, promising an evening of music, family entertainment and festive spirit.
Last-minute shoppers will also be catered for when the Orion Twilight Christmas Markets light up on Tuesday 23 December, offering artisan gifts and handcrafted treasures just in time for Christmas morning.

New Change Rooms Underway at Camira Recreation Reserve
Construction has officially started on long-awaited new change rooms and amenities at Camira Recreation Reserve, replacing facilities destroyed by fire.
The project includes:
- A new Besser block amenities building on a concrete slab
- Two modern change rooms with showers and toilets
- A referee’s room with its own facilities
- Three additional toilets for players and spectators
- A disability-accessible toilet and shower
- A new connecting concrete pathway
Residents may notice increased noise and some pedestrian restrictions during construction. The works are expected to be completed by February 2026, weather permitting.
Planning Begins for Sharpless Road Shared Pathway
Ipswich City Council has commenced early planning for a footpath replacement along a section of Sharpless Road, Springfield.
The project proposes upgrades between numbers 50 and 78, with survey teams active throughout November and December to collect design data. Residents may see contractors carrying out sampling and survey work, though disruptions are expected to be minimal.
Detailed design is anticipated to commence later in the financial year, with construction timing dependent on future budget allocations.
