Ipswich City Council’s Division 3 is set for exciting developments, with public art projects, cultural upgrades, and community initiatives on the way, according to Councillor Andrew Antoniolli.
Public Art Projects Underway
Four Ipswich locations, including River Heart Parklands and Darcy Doyle Place, will receive new public art installations as part of an $810,000 SEQ City Deal funding initiative.
“We want to support local artists to showcase their talent in public spaces that reflect Ipswich’s vibrant arts culture,” Cr Antoniolli said.
Expressions of interest are open, with submissions closing in two weeks before the shortlisting and tendering process begins.
Cultural Revitalization in the City
Ipswich is also set to benefit from a $3.8 million federal government investment for cultural site upgrades, including the Ipswich Art Gallery, Darcy Doyle Place, and the Civic Centre.
“The Ipswich Art Gallery is one of the most attended regional galleries in Australia, and the Civic Centre is about to celebrate 50 years of entertainment,” Cr Antoniolli said.
Clean Up Australia Day & Mini Bounce Opening
Residents are encouraged to participate in Clean Up Australia Day on March 3, with over 60 registered sites across the city.
For families, the much-anticipated Mini Bounce Ipswich opens this Saturday. Designed for children under six, the adventure playground features trampolines, climbing areas, and a café for parents.
