Limelight Cinemas is keeping Ipswich entertained this August with a diverse mix of special events, classic favourites, and major new releases.
The month began with the launch of Crafty Classics, a new initiative that lets moviegoers bring knitting, crocheting, colouring, or other mess-free hobbies to enjoy during screenings of iconic films.
“Our first session with The Princess Diaries was a great hit,” said Lex from Limelight Cinemas. “Next up is Clueless on September 1, and then Mean Girls later in the season.”
Tonight, fans will get a dose of nostalgia as Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan return for Freakier Friday, the much-anticipated sequel to Freaky Friday. Special Girls Night Out sessions in Gold and XD include gift bags valued at over $100, with Gold guests also enjoying a two-course meal.
For horror fans, Weapons lands on the big screen this week. From the director of Barbarian, the chilling film follows a disturbing disappearance involving an entire class of children—except one.
“It’s spine-chilling and terrifying,” Lex warned. “Definitely not for the faint-hearted.”
Comedy fans are in for a treat with The Naked Gun reboot starring Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson. Paying homage to the original cult classic, the film will have an advanced screening this Saturday at 6 PM ahead of its August 21 release.
With just two major releases this week but a packed schedule of special events through September and October, Limelight promises something for everyone.
