Ipswich life coach and author Loz Antonenko is challenging the long-standing culture of hustle, urging locals to rethink burnout as a badge of honour and instead make rest a priority.

Speaking on West Bremer Radio’s Brekky Club, Loz shared her own experience with burnout, revealing she has been hospitalised multiple times due to exhaustion.

“For years we’ve glamorised being busy and labelled rest as lazy,” Loz said. “But your nervous system will eventually call you out. You can’t manifest success from your panic room.”

Loz outlined three key tips for managing stress:

  • Plan recovery before you crash – build downtime into your schedule instead of waiting for burnout to hit.
  • Treat calmness as a skill, not a luxury – set boundaries, take breaks, and try practical resets like cold exposure or breathing exercises.
  • Focus on regulation over hustle – a regulated mind is more productive than a scattered one, so swap multitasking for focused “monotasking.”

Her advice comes with a simple reminder: “You’re not lazy—you’re just cooked. Take a brain break, have a nap, and regulate your system before your calendar.”

Loz’s full approach is detailed in her book Get the F Unstuck, available at lozlife.com and major online bookstores.
