The Springfield Anglican College (TSAC) is thrilled to announce the launch of the New TSAC Basketball Club in partnership with the Greater Springfield Basketball Association (GSBA) and the Greater Springfield Pioneers. This exciting new initiative, set to begin in February 2025, will offer TSAC students an elite sports pathway and expand their athletic opportunities.

The TSAC Basketball Club will complement the school’s current involvement in Greater Brisbane Conference (GBC) sports, allowing students to participate in year-round competition as part of the GSBA league. Teams will range from Under 12 to Under 18, with home games hosted at the soon-to-open state-of-the-art TSAC Sports Centre.

Principal Steven Morris expressed his excitement for the venture, highlighting the benefits of the partnership with GSBA. “This collaboration aligns with our values of excellence and offers our students access to high-level coaching, officiating, and playing pathways. With the Pioneers’ affiliation, our athletes have the potential to compete at state levels and beyond,” Morris said.

The TSAC Basketball Club aims to create an inclusive environment, welcoming players of all skill levels to build their abilities and represent the school. The year-round competition will provide continuous growth and development for athletes, with an emphasis on both skill and leadership.

GSBA CEO June Tahata praised the collaboration, noting that this partnership with TSAC is the first of its kind. “We are eager to foster grassroots community connections through sports and provide healthy opportunities for local children,” Tahata said.

A sign-on day for the new club will be held in November 2024 at the TSAC Sports Centre, giving students and families the chance to learn more about this exciting opportunity.
