Nominations have officially opened for the 2025 Ipswich and West Moreton Region Child Protection Week Awards, recognising individuals and organisations committed to keeping children safe and supported in our community.
Speaking on West Bremer Radio’s Crime Watch segment, Senior Constable Kerrin Sheedy confirmed that this year’s awards will be held during Child Protection Week (7–13 September), with the theme: “Every Conversation Matters – Shifting Conversation to Action.”
“It’s not just about talking anymore – this year we want to turn those meaningful conversations into real change,” said Senior Constable Sheedy.
The awards, now in their 14th year, are coordinated by the Ipswich District Child Protection Week Committee, comprising representatives from the Queensland Police Service, Department of Children, Youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs, Ipswich Community Youth Service (ICYS), Somerset Regional Council, and Ipswich City Council.
They aim to celebrate and acknowledge:
- Outstanding individuals
- Volunteers
- Community programs
- Organisations
- Frontline workers
who contribute to the safety, wellbeing and empowerment of children and young people across the region.
