Ipswich’s love for cars is about to rev up as Ripley Valley gears up for its own car show, adding to the city’s vibrant auto culture. Following the recent Halloween-themed LAPS event and the popular Park and Pose in Nicholas Street, Ripley is hosting its first Car Show and Shine event, inviting car enthusiasts from across the area to show off their prized vehicles.
Councillor Pye Augustine shared her excitement for the event, which will be held on November 16 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Raptor Dome Car Park at Ripley Valley State Secondary College. “We’ve seen so much enthusiasm for car events in Ipswich, so it’s fantastic that the Ripley Valley community is getting involved as well,” Councillor Augustine said.
The event, organized by the Ripley Valley State Secondary College P&C, promises a diverse display of cars competing across various categories, including Best in Show, Best Holden, Best Ford, Best Hot Rod, Best Muscle, Best Pickup, Best Custom, Best Original, and Best Rat Rod. Councillor Augustine, who will be presenting some of the awards, admitted she’s still learning her way around car culture but is looking forward to seeing all the shiny vehicles on display.
“Cars are such a big part of Ipswich culture, and the Ripley Valley Car Show will be a great chance for everyone to enjoy these amazing vehicles,” Augustine added.
For those looking to enter their cars, registration details are available through Ripley Valley State Secondary College P&C.
