Ipswich wellness coach Loz Antonenko is urging locals to ditch food guilt and break free from what she calls “diet drama” ahead of a free live webinar next Monday as part of her mission to promote flexible, sustainable eating habits.

Speaking on West Bremer Radio’s Brekkie Club, Loz shared her three “food rules to break before Monday” – a challenge designed to help people escape shame spirals around dieting.

“Too many people trade burpees for bickies and treat food like punishment,” she said. “My flip on that is simple: move for mood, eat for fuel – it’s not transactional.”

Her second rule targets the “good versus bad food” mentality, which she says locks people into guilt-driven choices. Instead, Loz recommends thinking of foods as “often” or “sometimes,” embracing balance through the 80/20 approach.

The final rule she wants people to ditch is the “start over Monday” attitude, which she calls “perfection prison.” “The all-or-nothing mindset ensures you do nothing,” Loz explained. “Instead, focus on the next best choice – the next bite, the next meal – that’s how you reset without the meltdown.”

As quick takeaways, Loz suggests prioritising protein, planning and enjoying treats without guilt, and remembering that “no refunds exist for guilt.”

Her upcoming free webinar, Food Guilt Can F Right Off, will be held at midday on Monday, September 8. It promises practical tips to ditch shame while keeping snacks on the menu, teaching participants how to build an eating style that lasts.

“You don’t need to restart every Monday,” Loz said. “For the love of your actual life, break those rules by next week.”
