This week, the U3A (University of the Third Age) Ipswich is set to present their fourth annual Creative Classes Exhibition, a vibrant display of local art, photography, and live performances by their talented community members. The exhibition opens Friday, November 1, and runs daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ipswich Community Gallery, with an official launch event Saturday, November 2, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors can enjoy an eclectic mix of works, including painting, drawing, literature, and photography, alongside a live performance by the U3A Ukulele Group.

“We’ve got about 40 classes weekly across subjects from art to language to history,” said U3A’s photography tutor, Wayne McDonald, who emphasized the group’s goal to encourage lifelong learning. “This event is a chance for everyone to see the creativity that’s coming out of Ipswich’s local community, especially from those who might just be discovering these skills.”

The exhibition also provides a unique opportunity to view and purchase local art, with a variety of affordable works available for sale. A raffle will be held to support U3A Ipswich, and entry to the exhibition is free.

To visit the U3A Creative Classes Exhibition, head to the Ipswich Community Gallery, located conveniently near the Ipswich Art Awards exhibition, allowing art lovers to make the most of their gallery trip.
