Ipswich-based artist Rhiannon is gearing up for a major exhibition that aims to highlight the resilience of women through large-scale portraiture. If She Spoke: Stories from Struggle to Strength will showcase the journeys of women who have overcome adversity, with their stories captured through bold, expressive artwork.
Speaking on Getting Your Arts Into Gear on West Bremer Radio, Rhiannon revealed that the exhibition will feature massive paintings, some as large as 2.4 meters by 1.8 meters. “Every story sent in will be represented in some way,” she said. “It’s about honouring the struggles and triumphs of everyday women.”
The exhibition, set for November 14-17, will include an emotional reveal, with the women seeing their portraits for the first time on opening night. Rhiannon hopes the event will not only celebrate strength but also foster deeper understanding. “People see faces every day without knowing what others have been through. This exhibition gives them a chance to connect on a more personal level.”
To bring the project to life, Rhiannon is seeking sponsors and community support. “It’s a massive undertaking, and I’d love for businesses or individuals to be part of something truly meaningful.” Those interested in supporting the exhibition can contact her via Instagram at @rmh_art or visit her website at www.rmhart.com.
With six portraits completed and 24 more to go, Rhiannon remains committed to creating an unforgettable experience. “This isn’t just an exhibition—it’s a movement.”
