Limelight Cinemas is celebrating a major run of anniversary screenings, with Top Gun, Top Gun: Maverick and Shrek returning to the big screen.
Cinema spokesperson Lex said the 40th anniversary of Top Gun is being marked with a special screening on Top Gun Day, May 13, followed by Top Gun: Maverick sessions across the weekend. Limited-edition Maverick helmet popcorn collectibles are also available while stocks last.
The cinema will also screen Shrek for its 25th anniversary, giving families and long-time fans another chance to enjoy the animated classic on the big screen.

Meanwhile, The Devil Wears Prada 2 continues to draw strong audiences after becoming the number one movie in Australia last week. Lex said the return of Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt has been a major hit, particularly around Mother’s Day.
A new release is also joining the lineup, with Guy Ritchie’s In the Grey arriving this week. The action-heist film stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Henry Cavill and promises the director’s trademark mix of espionage, sharp dialogue and high-stakes action.
Session times and tickets are available through Limelight Cinemas.
