If you’ve ever found yourself putting off tasks, you’re not alone. Health and mindset expert Loz Antonenko joined West Bremer Radio to share insights on why we procrastinate and how to overcome it.

Why Do We Procrastinate?

Loz explained that procrastination isn’t just laziness—it often has a deeper cause. “People put things off because they feel overwhelmed, fear failure, or lack motivation,” she said. Identifying the root cause is the first step in overcoming it.

Top Tips to Stop Procrastination

1️⃣ Identify the Block – Ask yourself: Am I overwhelmed? Do I fear failing? Is this something I should delegate or automate?

2️⃣ Break It Down – Big tasks can feel unachievable. Loz suggests “chunking” them into smaller, manageable steps.

3️⃣ Define Success – Set SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) for each step to stay on track.

4️⃣ The Five-Minute Rule – “Commit to just five minutes of work,” Loz recommends. “Momentum often takes over, and before you know it, you’re getting things done.”

A Day for Eating Right (and Chocolate Nuts?)

Loz also shared a fun fact—February 25th is Let’s All Eat Right Day, honouring pioneering nutritionist Adele Davis. Ironically, it also happens to be National Chocolate Covered Nut Day! “Choose your battles,” Loz joked.
