Good morning, it’s a Tuesday and you are here on the Brekkie Club. It’s back to work Tuesday in fact, so you’re all going to get out of bed and go to work. Which by the way, I’m actually feeling okay today. Why? Because you’re still doing it in bed. There we go. Doing what in bed? Doing the show. What are you doing? Okay, no, no, no, we are doing it from our studio, but I’m feeling because we’re…
00:22
doing Laws’s 12 week challenge, right? Or we’ve only really just started. Because now we’ve met with Adrian, and we had a good chat with him. Now we’re gonna just relay some of that to Laws. Morning, Laws. Good morning, happy fake Monday. It feels a bit like that, doesn’t it? We’re all gonna get back to work. I love a good long weekend though, hey, I think that’s one of the last ones we’ve got. Oh, do we have another one? Ipswich shows the next kind of…
00:48
long weekend, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, but the next actual like national long weekend isn’t until the end of October or around that region. Yeah, anyway, fun times. Anyway, time to delve into our 12 week challenge, which we’ve got on to by you and I’ve started. Damo is yet to watch his video. Right.
01:14
Tell me the biggest things that you’ve learnt this week, gentlemen. So obviously you’re at different parts of the journey. Yes. Because Damo hasn’t watched his video. But tell me about like how you felt after chatting with Adrian. What was your biggest take home from that conversation? Oh, look, I just thought he was so positive and, uh, uh, really sort of engaging so that you felt like you really wanted to make this work, not just for, for yourself, but for him as well. Um, you know, and, uh,
01:42
We had a very frank discussion on the things we should be looking at. Uh, but basically it was an introduction to find out the sort of things we do in our lifestyle, the sort of foods we eat, that sort of thing. So that also what blew my mind is also what we want to accomplish. Yes. Yeah. And so tell me about that gentleman. What, what do you want to accomplish over the next 12 weeks and even beyond that? Well, I mean, I’d like to get to a specific weight goal.
02:09
And we talked to Adrian about that and doing the numbers for me. Uh, where Sparky just wants to, you know, fit into some clothes. Yeah. I just want to feel good. Right. So, I mean, but how great is it that you can both have individual goals while you’re on this journey together? Yes. Yeah, exactly. And that’s the thing. And I think that that’s the key to it. You know, where you feel as though it’s tailored to you, even though we’re doing it together, um, you know, for the purposes of the radio show.
02:39
It still feels as though, you know, Adrian is providing that individual advice to each of us. And he is, and this is what I love about the program guys, is that even if you do it together and become each other’s support and accountability buddies, everybody’s on this journey differently. And you know, what’s the beginning for somebody might be more like the middle of their journey for someone else. And what I love about being able to do this with you is that you’re getting to see, well, okay, well, these things could be possible. And if we chunk it down and follow the framework,
03:08
It’s less about being perfect and more about just being consistent. Yes. Yeah. And probably Adrian said something to that effect to you. And look, it’s also about understanding, um, how it all works. If you know what I mean, laws, you know, where, where you put something in your pie hole, um, it’s going to end up as, you know, either energy for the body and expelled out, or it’s going to end up as, you know, uh, you know, lining on your stomach.
03:36
Yeah. Stored energy for the rainy day that you’ll never have. That’s it. Cause you’d need a lot of rainy days. Oh, you know, yeah, but that’s okay. But it’s, it’s understanding that and breaking that process down for you in a really clear and simple way so that you can see, okay, well, this isn’t as, as challenging as maybe I thought it was. And I think a lot of people, especially when it comes to like fat loss, losing weight and all of those sorts of frameworks that people put themselves in, it can seem really daunting at the beginning because you go, oh my gosh, that’s a lot of. That’s a big number, but we get to chunk it down.
04:07
One week at a time, one day at a time, one meal at a time. And if you stack that all together, and this is about even adding in anything like exercise, we haven’t even used the E word. Yeah. And don’t mess all that up. It’s very possible to have some, some big outcomes. And, you know, I’m really proud of you guys for having that chat and being really open and honest, because over the next year, 11, 11 to 12 weeks, we’re going to be going through what you guys have done in the week. So, you know, you’ve only just started.
04:35
So I’m not, I’m not going to harass you too much. And I want to scare you off today. No, no. And look, that’s the thing. And I neither did, you know, like, cause exercise is a big thing for me. Uh, where, uh, you know, I’m quite concerned about doing a lot of exercise and basically because I look like Clive Palmer. Um, but as Adrian said, um, you know, you don’t need to do that initial exercise. It’s all about what you put into your mouth and how you manage that. And, uh, I think that was a.
05:05
a bit of a light bulb moment for me that I could do that without thinking I was going to have to end up at a gym doing, you know, weights. Yeah and it’s a bit of a misconception because in a previous chat we’ve actually talked about how exercise can only really account for about 8 to 10 percent of your total daily energy expenditure and food is a really large part of your daily energy expenditure. So if you can sort that, the exercise is just the, well, the very healthy icing on the very healthy cake isn’t it? Yes, yeah.
05:34
Look, I think it’s a great program and something that pretty much, you know, if I can do it, anybody can do it. That’s right. Absolutely. And what I have been trying to have a chat about is also the booklets you get with it as well. So the daily planners and also you guys give us some books with some low carb meal ideals as well. And you know what, I’ve got about 15 more of those books. They’re all digital versions, not printed out ones. But.
06:04
There’s 80 plus recipes in the printed book that I gave you there. And so if you get bored, there’s plenty more recipes and it’s great. Cause it’s just normal food, right guys? Yeah. And it’s delicious. And you can, you can feed your whole family. You can have friends over and just eat healthy, delicious and nutritious food and not feel like you’re getting FOMO. Exactly. Well, we’re into week one of the 12 week challenge. I have to say, I’m a little bit disappointed. I didn’t find yogurt on my menu yet.
06:32
phase one. Yogurt is very high in carbohydrates. Yeah. So there you go. Fun times. Yeah. But it comes, it’s there, it’s waiting, just not yet. I know, it’s on Dan’s menu. It’s about just letting your body have a chance to, you know, do what it needs to do and increase your metabolism before we start increasing those things. And you may find that some of the things you used to love before, actually, you don’t love as much this time and you might love other things instead. It’s crazy. And look, that’s the thing, we get set in a rut, don’t we, Loz?
06:58
Yeah. And we get used to eating certain foods, especially hyper palatable foods. And our brains then find it really hard to rewire to things that are a bit more nutritionally dense. So when we give our body a chance to reset itself, cause that’s what we’re doing. We’re doing a bit of a reset for you. Then you’ll find that your metabolism works better. And sometimes your palate changes too in a good way. I’m excited. Me too. And look, we’ve only just got started. You know, we met with Adrian on Friday.
07:27
We’ve got another meeting with Adrian this coming Friday. So that will be the end of week one. Yes. So we’ll be chatting again next Tuesday. And listen, I’ve got to also say it’s very, very quick. Dame. I know this segment is going long, but we’ve got to get it out there. I’ve got to also say that I did my meeting with Adrian while I was sitting in the car in the car park of work on a zoom meeting.
07:53
And it’s that easy. You don’t need to go and rock up to see him in person. You can do it over Zoom if you want to. And that makes it so easy for you to be able to meet those goals, meet the expectations and also have support there with Adrian. And that’s why I say hashtag no excuses. Because there’s no excuses. We make it as easy as it can be to make it accessible for people to be able to achieve their goals. Yep, exactly.
08:21
I’ll be watching my video today. And I’ll be gonna hold you to that. I’ll be cracking up my books and you watch it’ll be on like Donkey Kong. I’m going to lose so much more weight than him. Uh, I’ll be able to go and call him a pork. Well, no, it’s all good. And I’ll call him a porker. See, I’m all about vitality, mate. I, I can deal with being a porker for a while. Uh, appreciate it. Lies. Uh, if anyone else wants to go on this crazy journey, we are, how did they do it?
08:50
they can come and find me at lozlife.com forward slash weight laws W E I G H T L O Z. We’ll just go to Lozlife, Loz Antonenko anywhere on social media. Find me, hit me up, slide into my DMS and I’ll send you the info. Easy done. I love it when you talk technical. There you go. Appreciate it, Loz. We’ll catch up with you again next week.
