National Child Protection Week, running from September 1st to 7th, carries the theme “Every Child in Every Community Needs a Fair Go,” complemented by “Every Conversation Matters.” This theme underscores the power of dialogue in understanding issues, finding solutions, and strengthening the social connections vital for the well-being of children and young people. Constable Dowell emphasized that everyone, from caregivers and professionals to the general public and media, plays a crucial role in these conversations.

The Child Protection Week Awards aim to honor individuals, community members, volunteers, and workers who have made significant contributions to child safety and well-being. Nominations can be submitted via the ICYS website (icys.org.au) by following the links for the Child Protection Week Awards nominations. However, time is of the essence, as the nomination window closes at 5 PM on Friday, August 2nd.

Winners will be celebrated at the Ipswich and West Moreton Region Child Protection Week Gala Dinner and Awards presentation on Friday, September 6th, at the Ipswich Events and Entertainment Centre, Bundamba. Those wishing to attend the event can secure tickets through trybooking.com. Finalists will receive a complimentary ticket to the Gala Dinner, where they may accept their awards.
