Redbank Plains is set to host a vibrant sports sign-on and come-and-try day this Saturday, February 1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Town Square Redbank Plains. The event invites families and individuals to explore a wide range of sporting opportunities available in the region.

Councillor Pye Augustine shared details on the Brekkie Club, emphasising the diversity of sports represented. “We’ll have football (soccer), rugby league, AFL, hockey, archery, and more,” she said. The event is designed to provide valuable information about these sports, helping families find the right fit for their children or even for adults looking to rejoin the sporting world.

Adding to the lineup, Bremer State High School will share insights about its elite athlete program, offering pathways for talented students to excel in their chosen sports.

“Sometimes young families don’t know which sport to choose,” Cr Augustine explained. “This is the perfect chance to explore different options, gather information, and see what sparks an interest.”

While the event primarily focuses on sports in the Redbank Plains area, neighboring clubs, such as Ripley Valley Football Club and hockey representatives from Raceview, will also be present.

Councillor Augustine will attend the event, engaging with sports codes and attendees. “Come down, say hi, and learn about the exciting opportunities available,” she encouraged.

With a three-hour window and an array of activities, the event promises to be an informative and interactive experience for families exploring Ipswich’s sporting scene.

Head to Town Square Redbank Plains this Saturday. Whether you’re looking to try something new or reignite a passion for sports, this event is the perfect place to start.
