Limelight Cinemas Ipswich is proving it’s more than just a movie theatre — it’s quickly becoming the city’s hub for film, fun, food, and even naps.

Speaking with West Bremer Radio’s Brekkie Club, cinema host Lex revealed a jam-packed slate of new experiences and screenings as the venue embraces blockbuster season with style and originality.

Fresh Flicks and Famous Faces
Leading the charge is Four Letters of Love, a romantic drama starring Pierce Brosnan and Helena Bonham Carter. Based on Niall Williams’ bestselling novel, the film explores fate, family, and forbidden love as two soulmates are pulled together — and apart — by life’s twists.

Also premiering in special advanced screenings is the highly anticipated Fantastic Four: First Steps. Featuring Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic and Vanessa Kirby as the Invisible Woman, the film reintroduces Marvel’s “first family” as they juggle superhero duties and personal dynamics — all while facing off against the cosmic threat of Galactus and a reimagined female Silver Surfer.

“It’s been a massive blockbuster season and we’re just getting started,” said Lex. “This lineup is going to keep the momentum going strong right into spring.”

Craft & Classic Comebacks
For something more nostalgic, Limelight is launching Crafty Classics — a Monday night series where guests can bring knitting, crocheting, colouring, or any quiet creative hobby to the theatre while watching timeless films. The lineup kicks off with The Princess Diaries on August 5, followed by Clueless and a special Mean Girls screening on October 3 — official “Mean Girls Day.”

Guests will enjoy the dimmed luxury of the cinema’s Gold Class lounge, complete with tables and in-seat food and drink service, making it the ultimate low-key night out.

Napflix, Anyone?
Limelight is also continuing its wildly popular Snooze Sessions — cinema experiences designed for people who just need a break. Think rainforest visuals, soft lighting, ambient soundscapes, and a comfy recliner or daybed to catch some Zs. The next session will be held on Friday, August 1 at midday — perfect for winding down before the weekend.

“The first session was a hit — people came out looking rested and relaxed. It’s something no other cinema is offering,” Lex said.
