Ipswich is set to swing back to the 1950s later this month, with the popular Retro and Rockabilly Twilight Event returning to the Ipswich Showgrounds for a family-friendly evening of music, vintage style and classic cars.

The event will be held on Saturday, March 21 from 4pm to 9pm, with organisers promising a relaxed community celebration packed with retro fun.
Visitors can expect a full program of entertainment and attractions, including a pin-up parade with an Austin Powers theme, a classic car show and shine, rock and roll dancing, food trucks, a licensed bar, mini sideshow alley rides and games, plus market stalls featuring arts, crafts and pre-loved items.
Live entertainment will also be a major drawcard, with Swingabilly Ray and Just Rock Ipswich set to perform and keep the energy high throughout the evening.
Organisers say the twilight event combines many of the features locals have come to love, while adding a rockabilly and retro twist that is expected to appeal to all ages.
Entry is $5, with children aged 12 and under admitted free. Tickets will be available at the gate, while pre-purchased tickets can help visitors skip the queue.
West Bremer Radio is also offering attendees the chance to win a family pass and a $50 food voucher, with people encouraged to head to the station’s Facebook or Instagram pages to enter the competition.
