Accord Care

Accord Care, an organisation dedicated to providing comprehensive accommodation services, is making significant strides in the community. Carolyn Johnson, a key figure at Accord Care, recently shared insights into the organisation’s mission and activities during the All Ability Hour on West Bremer Radio.

Accord Care has been operational for about three and a half years, offering a range of services, including Supported Independent Living (SIL), Short Term Accommodation (STA), Medium Term Accommodation (MTA), and Individual Living Options (ILO). “We provide everything accommodation-related and have an amazing program called the Hospital to Home program,” Johnson explained. This initiative aims to transition individuals from hospital settings to their homes, thus reducing hospital occupancy rates.

In addition to accommodation services, Accord Care boasts a robust support coordination team and a highly skilled clinical team, including a clinical nurse and registered nurses. This enables the organization to handle complex cases and high-intensity supports effectively.

Accord Care is also deeply involved in charitable activities. The organization participated in the CEO Sleep Out for St. Vincent de Paul Society (St. Vinny’s) and the Push Up Challenge, reflecting its commitment to community service. Johnson highlighted the Accord Outreach Programme, which was established by the organization’s founder. “We started with our very first participant who was made homeless, so one of our mantras is that everybody deserves a home,” Johnson said.

The Accord Outreach Programme operates out of Logan and provides various community services, including food parcels and support with forms and applications, particularly for NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) applications. The program is primarily run by volunteers and student placements, emphasizing the organization’s dedication to community involvement and support.

As the relationship manager for Accord Care, Johnson expressed her enthusiasm for the CEO Sleep Out, an event designed to raise awareness and funds for homelessness. “It was a big eye-opener and a phenomenal experience,” she remarked, advocating for more NDIS providers to join the initiative in the future.

For those interested in learning more or seeking assistance from Accord Care, Johnson advised contacting the organization through various channels, including LinkedIn, their website, or their main phone line at 3252 2068.

Accord Care continues to set a high standard in the accommodation and support services sector, demonstrating a deep commitment to improving lives and fostering community spirit.
