Christmas and New Year Festivities
🎄 Christmas Cheer Across Ipswich
- Caroling Events: From Marburg to Ipswich Central, caroling events continue to bring communities together.
- Tivoli Drive-In Festival: Gates open at 3pm for live entertainment, market stalls, and fireworks.
🎆 New Year’s Eve Fireworks
- Citywide Display: Fireworks will light up Springfield Central, South Ripley, Chuwar, Ipswich Central, and Goodna at 9pm.

Major Milestones in 2024
🌿 Colleges Crossing Reopens
- After devastation in the 2022 floods, Colleges Crossing Recreation Reserve is back with a flood-resilient design.
- Features: 100+ mature trees, 35,000 new plants, 22,000 square metres of turf, and a state-of-the-art all-abilities playground.
- Instead of a café, there’s a new space for food trucks, catering to a broader audience.
🎨 Spark Ipswich: Delight Artist Call-Out
- Event Dates: July 11–20, 2025.
- Local artists are invited to submit works for projection on the Tulmur Walk building facade.
- Selected artists will receive a $1,000 commission.

🗑️ Industrial Action and Waste Services
- Union-led industrial action has disrupted garbage collection in certain areas.
- Mayor Harding clarified that, under Queensland law, industrial disputes are managed by the CEO, not councillors.
