Ipswich film fans are being treated to a diverse slate of new releases and special events, with Limelight Cinemas unveiling its latest program during its weekly radio update.
Cinema manager Lex revealed that the coming weeks will feature a mix of romantic dramas, action thrillers, concert films and classic-inspired events, leading into Valentine’s Day and beyond.
One of the headline releases is Is This Thing On?, starring Will Arnett, Laura Dern and Bradley Cooper. Written and directed by Cooper, the film follows a man rebuilding his life through stand-up comedy after a marriage breakdown.

“It’s a light-hearted romantic drama with plenty of heart and laughs,” Lex said, describing it as ideal viewing in the lead-up to Valentine’s Day.
Action fans will also be catered for with Shelter, starring Jason Statham as a reclusive man whose quiet coastal life is disrupted after rescuing a young girl during a storm.
K-pop enthusiasts can look forward to Stray Kids: The Dominate Experience, a large-screen concert event featuring footage from the group’s world tour, behind-the-scenes interviews and exclusive content.
“This gives fans a front-row concert experience without leaving Ipswich,” Lex said.
With Valentine’s Day approaching, Limelight is also preparing for the release of Wuthering Heights, starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, alongside ongoing sessions of romantic and drama favourites.
“Gold Class sessions always sell out quickly around Valentine’s Day, so we’re encouraging couples to book early,” Lex said.
Adding to the excitement, Limelight will host a special Elvis-themed event in February to coincide with the screening of Epic: Elvis Presley in Concert, featuring restored footage of Elvis Presley.
The event will include a live performance and meet-and-greet with a professional Elvis tribute artist, followed by the feature screening on February 21.
The film showcases rare 8mm and 16mm footage discovered during production of Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis, offering fans new insight into Presley’s legendary 1970s performances.
Lex said the new program reflects the cinema’s commitment to offering something for everyone.
“From romance and horror to action and live music experiences, we’re proud to bring such a wide range of films to Ipswich,” she said.
