Good morning Damo and good morning Alexis. Good morning.
00:27
All right. I’m excited Lex, let me tell you, cause I want to get to Line Line Cinemas and see Furiosa, Mad Max Saga. Oh, absolutely. Now we have just seen the stars from Furiosa in Australia with Chris Hemsworth, Anya Taylor-Joy, and of course George Miller gracing us with their presence in Sydney for some of the first screenings of this movie. Now this was actually shot in…
00:54
Australia in the outback of New South Wales. So in a town of Hay and also Silverton. Hey, hey, yeah. Hey, you. Which Silverton’s actually considered a ghost town with their total population of 48 people. It’s fun. Everyone would know everyone. Absolutely. It just, we would just feel like your family.
01:17
So they shot this in Australia, which we always find exciting. You know, this film is very Australian. You listen to the accents. From the shots that we see in the trailer, very vast, dry, outback style scenes. So the film is currently sitting at 86% on Rotten Tomatoes and it’s a prequel slash spin-off?
01:45
of 2015’s Mad Max Fury Road. And it’s gonna highlight Furiosa’s origin story of her being taken from her family as she puts together, puts together the means of finding her way home. Now, this movie was so well received at the Cannes Film Festival this week that it received an eight minute standing ovation. Wow. Incredible. Wow. Absolutely incredible. That’s huge. Yeah, so bring on the Aussies. I love.
02:14
any of our movies that we can really drive home that great Aussie. I’m not going to say Aussie culture because I feel like Mad Max is not the movie that you want to compare to Australian culture, but listening to the great Australian talent and accents of our people. Well, it’s going to be great. And I hear the cinematography for this movie is absolutely tremendous.
02:43
Oh, for sure. We put in these two, our two new lasers into our XD cinemas and my favourite trailer to watch when we were doing testing was Furiosa because the scenes are just phenomenal on those screens. It is so bright and crisp that you are just simply blown away. Now I was speaking to my boss today about actually the release of Furiosa and he said, you’ve got to have this one. Crank the sound, it’s high impact.
03:10
You’ve got to just see it on the biggest screen with the sound cranked right up, sit back and relax and enjoy this one because it is an absolute ride. Yep, fantastic. It’s George Miller’s Furiosa, a mad max saga. Fury is Born starring Chris Hemsworth and Anya Taylor-Joy hitting the big screens this week at Limelight Cinemas. The other one I was looking forward to seeing too and this shows my kids side.
03:39
is the Garfield movie. Do you know what, Damo? You are more than welcome to show your kids side. We’ve just seen, we’ve seen IF, just a slightly sidetracked, but we’ve seen IF release this week. And I have seen more adults in that movie than I have children. And I’m so glad because that movie was made for us even more so than the kids. I think it is more for us to…
04:05
remind us to be kids again, to remind us to use some imagination sometimes and to sit back and actually be a kid again. So you know what? I love these kids movies that also engage families, both young and young at heart. Those who, you know, I know so many adults are so excited about Garfield. I know I am and I swear sometimes I probably use my seven year olds as an excuse to go and see kids movies. But they’re great. You just go out there and enjoy yourself, Alexis. Be you.
04:34
For sure. Honestly, I’ve seen F twice already. Don’t think for me. It’s not even been out a week. It’s been out a week today and I’ve seen it twice. So I loved it. Honestly, every parent, every adult, everyone who needs that gentle reminder that they need to be a kid again, take some tissues if you’re an adult because you definitely feel the themes of that movie more than children do. It’ll probably go straight over their head, but for us big kids.
05:02
It’s definitely a reminder of, you know, being kids again. Um, and I think Garfield is also going to see a similar audience. Like it’s going to see our families for sure, but also adults who have grown up with Garfield. Now there is, um, Garfield is being voiced by Chris Pratt, which we obviously saw as the fabulous Super Mario last year. And he is joined by Samuel L. Jackson as Vic, his dad, which is kind of fun.
05:28
Yeah. Now he is of course our favourite feline. He is the world famous Monday hating, lasagna loving, indoor cat that is embarking on an outdoor journey, much to his disgust. That this adventure is gonna put the pow in meow. The pow in meow. Oh, fantastic. I love it. Now Garfield’s left on the doorstep of course of his unsuspecting human John.
05:56
who is definitely unsuspecting when he puts an entire pizza in front of him and he consumes it in about 0.3 seconds flat. So he does absolutely love his pizzas, linden lasagnas and all of that good food. But it wouldn’t be Garfield, of course, without his canine friend, Odie, who is also joining him in the Garfield movie as well. And they are roped into a high stakes heist with Garfield’s dad, Vic, who are they?
06:24
who he is reunited with in this movie. So lots of fun for the family, lots of fun for us as adults who have grown up with this and we do have a special charity screening for this movie this weekend. Fantastic, look forward to seeing that Garfield. On the big screen now of course we do have presales going for a couple of big blockbusters coming over the next month or two. The first one of course Deadpool and Wolverine.
06:51
Oh my gosh, this went on sale at midnight on Monday. Now we get these beautiful emails from Disney going, you’re going on sale on Monday night, but also don’t tell anyone. We’re not allowed to tell anyone. So very excitingly, we are finally on sale for Deadpool and Wolverine. Now this releases 25th of July, but we do have advanced screenings the night before from 6pm. They are basically almost every half hour. We’ve gone hard at this one.
07:18
And it’s going to be massive. I can’t say anything about it. I’m strictly under embargo. I’m just really, really, really excited for this movie. So this is releasing 25th of July and on sale with our advanced screenings from the 24th of July, XD and Lounge. Remembering our XD cinemas have two beautiful new laser projectors, so that is the place to see Deadpool and Wolverine. And we also have
07:45
Bad Boys Ride or Die, which is also releasing in June. Our tickets are on sale for that. And then for the kiddies, right in time for the school holidays, we will see Inside Out 2, which tickets are on sale now. And Despicable Me 4 goes on sale from tomorrow. So we’ve basically got the major blockbuster releases, minus a couple. We’ve got A Quiet Place Day 1 that still needs to make its appearance. And now our tickets on sale, but.
08:11
some huge movies coming up in this June, July period. And I absolutely cannot wait. I’m so here for it. I’m for it. Looking forward to it, of course, so you can get all the session information and tickets by visiting lime Don’t forget also the Ampol State of Origin series coming up, you can get tickets for that on the big screen as well, which should be a lot of fun too.
