Brad Trussell, a 35-year-old third-generation welder and proud Ipswich West local, has announced his candidacy for One Nation in the upcoming Queensland state election. With deep roots in the region and a firsthand understanding of the challenges facing working families, Trussell is committed to delivering real change for Ipswich West.

A strong advocate for Australian jobs and youth opportunities, Trussell’s top priority is expanding the National Apprenticeship Scheme to equip the next generation with essential skills. “We need to bring back real opportunities for young people,” Trussell said. “The focus has shifted away from trades, and that’s a huge mistake. We need to get back to basics and invest in our workforce, because without skilled labor, our future is at risk.”

Trussell’s extensive experience across welding, transport, mining, and trucking industries gives him a unique perspective on the rising cost of living. “Working families are being squeezed,” he explained. “I know what it’s like to make ends meet, and the reality is that politicians in the major parties are out of touch with the everyday struggles of people in Ipswich West.”

As a father of three, Trussell is also passionate about restoring quality education. He believes that schools have moved away from teaching critical thinking and fundamental skills. “Our kids deserve better,” he said. “We need to focus on teaching them how to think, not what to think.”

Trussell has previously run for One Nation in both federal and state elections, and his dedication to serving Ipswich West remains stronger than ever. “I’m not a career politician—I’m a working-class guy who genuinely cares about this community,” he stated. “It’s time for politicians who understand the real world, not just party lines.”

Brad Trussell’s blend of working-class values, real-world experience, and political passion makes him a fierce advocate for Ipswich West’s future.
