Ipswich’s artistic community is being called to shine as the Nicholas Street Precinct’s Tulmur Walk transforms into a spectacular canvas during deLight, the centerpiece of SPARK Ipswich 2025.

Mayor Teresa Harding highlighted deLight as a cornerstone of the 10-day arts and culture festival, showcasing Ipswich’s diverse creative talent.

“Over the past five years, deLight has drawn thousands to enjoy mesmerizing illuminations on iconic buildings, along with live music and performances,” said Mayor Harding.
“This festival celebrates Ipswich’s rich arts scene, and we’re excited to invite local artists to showcase their work in this extraordinary way.”

Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for artists to have their masterpieces projected during the event are now open and close at 9 a.m. on January 28, 2025.

A Unique Platform for Ipswich Artists

Councillor Pye Augustine, Economic and Cultural Development Committee Chairperson, emphasized the opportunities for artists to expand their audiences and careers.

deLight transforms Ipswich into an outdoor gallery. It’s thrilling to imagine artists seeing their work illuminated on our city’s buildings, and I look forward to seeing this year’s submissions,” said Cr Augustine.

The selection panel will evaluate submissions based on artistic quality, the artist’s track record, and the potential for professional growth. Local relevance and alignment with SPARK Ipswich’s vision will also be considered.

Selected artists will receive a $1,000 commission and the chance to present their work to thousands during the festival, held from July 11 to 20, 2025.

How to Apply

Artists can visit the ‘Get Involved’ tab at IpswichFestivals.com.au for submission details and requirements.

SPARK Ipswich celebrates the city’s vibrant arts, culture, and community, and deLight promises to be another spectacular highlight of the festival’s fifth anniversary.
