Division 3 Councillor Marnie Doyle has been busy overseeing Ipswich’s exciting school holiday activities and important community projects. Speaking on West Bremer Radio, Doyle highlighted the city’s vibrant transformation, with dinosaurs taking over Ipswich Central as part of a school holiday adventure.

“This amazing prehistoric experience in Tulmur Place and Nicholas Street Precinct has animatronic dinosaurs, including a roaring T-Rex and woolly mammoth, taking residents back 165 million years,” Doyle said. The display is part of Ipswich City Council’s efforts to engage families during the holidays.

In addition to the dinosaur fun, the city is moving forward with the redevelopment of River Heart Parklands, which suffered significant damage in recent floods. Doyle encouraged residents to contribute their ideas for reimagining the beloved riverside park through the council’s “Shape Your Ipswich” platform.

“River Heart Parklands has been hit hard by floods since it first opened in 2007. This is our chance to build back better and create a more resilient space for the community,” Doyle explained, noting the importance of resident feedback to ensure the park meets everyone’s needs.

For families looking for more budget-friendly entertainment during the school break, the Brisbane South Toy Library is popping up in Ipswich Central from September 23-25 at Queen’s Park Environmental Education Center. With over 2,000 toys, games, and resources, the toy library offers a sustainable and cost-effective way for families to entertain their children.

“This is a great initiative that helps families save money while keeping kids engaged with new toys. It’s a win for both parents and the environment,” Doyle said.

Doyle will also be at Cameron’s Park this Saturday for the council’s free plant giveaway, offering a chance for residents to stop by and chat with their local councillor.
