Ipswich is thriving, with booming business, new community initiatives, and exciting developments across the city. Mayor Teresa Harding shared the latest updates on West Bremer Radio, highlighting the city’s strong economic growth and new projects enhancing quality of life.

Business on the Rise

Ipswich City Council’s New Business Breakfast is helping new entrepreneurs connect and network. “It’s a great way for business owners to meet each other, understand available support, and build confidence,” Mayor Harding said. Ipswich’s economy has now surpassed $13 billion, with over 13,000 new businesses launching last year alone.

One of the latest additions is Mini Bounce, which opened in the Nicholas Street Precinct. Designed for kids aged six months to six years, it features trampolines, rock climbing, ball pits, and slides—plus great coffee for parents. “The kids love it,” said Mayor Harding. Anytime Fitness has also joined the growing precinct, offering locals another way to stay active.

Community Health & Fitness

Ipswich Council’s Active & Healthy program is expanding, with free and low-cost fitness activities now available at Orion Lagoon. Popular aqua fitness classes have seen over 120 participants in one session, with other activities including yoga, boxing, and Tai Chi.

Infrastructure Updates

Efforts continue to restore Exit 33 on the Centenary Motorway, which was hit by a major landslide. “Crews are working seven days a week to clear debris and stabilise the site,” the Mayor confirmed. Photos of the progress are available on her Facebook page.
