Let’s talk movies. Let’s do it. Sure We’ve got a classic that’s coming back to the big screen and that is of course the planet of the apes now This one is called kingdom of the planet of the apes one of my favorite actors William H Macy in this one. Yeah now this I feel like we’ve got a lot of monkey movies happening at the moment We’ve just had Godzilla X Kong and now we’re walking into kingdom of the planet of the apes now, of course We’ve really got a split from that, haven’t we?
01:12
Yes, directed by Wes Bull, we are stepping into a world where apes and humans will clash in an epic battle for supremacy, where their lilties are going to be tested and their destinies are forged.
01:32
It’s set several generations into the future following Caesar’s reign in which we see apes as the dominant species. Yes. Living harmoniously and instead the humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. So I feel like this is like going in the opposite direction of what humanity has actually done. It’s interesting because when you think of the original, which of course started Charlton Heston. Yes. In the Planet of the Apes and how far this story has come.
02:01
And how modern technology has just improved the experience so much. Oh, honestly, I was looking at some, um, stills from the film today and they just look incredible at these monkeys and the CGI that we now have versus what these films started with is just incredible. Absolutely incredible. I mean, you, you compare the stills for this in comparison to even Godzilla X Kong.
02:25
And the amount of attention to detail in the CGI that has been done for Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is just incredible. I’m so excited to see this. If you’re a fan of the series, even if you’re not, get along and see it. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, which will hit the big screens tomorrow. Now something else that we’ve got to give people a bit of a heads up with is of course that this weekend is Mother’s Day. This weekend is Mother’s Day, celebrating all the mums in your life, whether it’s mums, stepmums, aunties.
02:55
Grandmas, step-in mums, you know, all of those amazing, incredible women in our lives. We have a few things happening this Mother’s Day to celebrate those lovely ladies in our lives. So we do have our Les Mis, Les Misrabes, remastered. That’ll be a classic for them. Absolutely. Hugh Jackman and Hathaway.
03:15
They are starring in, uh, Les Mis remastered and we’re doing a special high tea in the lounge for this. So treat mum to something a little bit fancy this mother’s day. And what else have we got? We’ve also got a family fun day as well. Haven’t we? Yes. So one of the most un-Google-able movie names that we could have ever got, um, the film is called IF standing for imaginary friends. Now this cast, like just kicking off with the cast alone.
03:42
This is directed by John Krasinski, who we’re about to see himself and Emily Blunt in A Quiet Place Day 1 later in June, July. But we’ve also got in this Ryan Reynolds, Matt Damon, Steve Carell, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Sam Rockwell, Maya Rudolph, Vince Vaughan, Awkwafina. Like the cast is huge and they’re voicing- George Clooney? Yeah, they’re voicing these imaginary friends. Now-
04:06
It looks fantastic. It’s some original life here that we haven’t really seen a lot of. I mean, this school holiday period, we’re going to see Garfield and Inside Out and Despicable Me, but this really looks quite exciting. Now I feel like my most entertainment from this film comes from the fact that Ryan Reynolds is releasing IF, which is, you know, really fun, family friendly film, followed by later in July, Deadpool v Wolverine, which is definitely probably not a family film. No.
04:30
We would go that far. Yeah, yeah. So this looks fantastic for the whole family. I think for the little ones to the young to the young at heart are really going to enjoy this. We’ve got a family fun day kicking off on Mother’s Day first thing at 10am. Plus we’re also continuing through the day with advanced screening. So if you’re doing breakfast with your mum and you won’t make the 10am family fun day.
04:50
then you’ve got sessions right across the day for this one. All right, and because sometimes mum likes breakfast in bed. Absolutely. So you can come to a later screening and she can still have all of that. For sure, hint, hint, make sure you make mum breakfast in bed this weekend kids. And being a mum yourself, what are you expecting? Um, I actually. Ha ha ha ha.
05:08
I’ve chosen my own destiny this weekend. And I’m actually taking my mum out for Mother’s Day on the Saturday night actually. We’re gonna have a little fiery night out at Sireme wines. Oh nice. Which I’m very excited for because wine charcuterie boards and.
05:29
a fire pit I’m incredibly excited for. Yes. Um, but also have had a look at, um, the soul not collective out at Marburg, hosting their mother’s day picnics. Um, there’s a lot happening, um, for mother’s day this weekend. So I may do that on Saturday night and then take, you know, do the motherly thing and then go and take my child to see if on mother’s day, there you go. And you maybe have a spot of high T. Yeah, exactly. I might sneak some of that into the cinema with me while I go watch if.
05:57
Now are you looking forward to seeing Furiosa? I am so excited. We, oh I don’t know if I mentioned it, we’ve just installed two new laser projectors into our XD cinemas and one of the trailers that was like my key highlight to check on the big screen is Furiosa because the image is so crisp with these new lasers and because the Furiosa trailer is explosions and really bright and insanely graphic images.
06:27
They are just incredible on our new lasers. So our owner Ross has already seen Furiosa at an advanced screening and has raved about it already. I cannot wait to see it. Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth have obviously, as well as George Miller, have just done the rounds in Australia. We just saw them at the Sydney premiere and Anya Taylor-Joy’s arrow headpiece was incredible. Also felt for Chris Hemsworth trying to stand near her when all of these arrows were.
06:57
Coming towards him from her outfit, but she looks amazing. So I was so tempted to get out the ring toss game Honestly, I reckon you would have won because there was a lot of arrows you could have Absolutely not but the shots that have come out of the premiere so far just look amazing The premiere was held when it was a little bit overcast also in Sydney So they got some great shots of it looking a little bit eerie and they did have people obviously
07:27
for the premiere as well. So the whole display just looked absolutely amazing. I’m really excited for this. And because if people book their tickets now to go and see Furiosa, a Mad Max saga, they could also win themself a $1,000 cash card. A thousand bucks. Just go watch Furiosa. Yeah, book online, book in store, book ahead of time, book online specifically.
07:53
and you will go into the draw. It’s automatic, you’ll go into the draw. So how do you book? Book online at lond Look at us going. Oh, look at us in stereo area. Oh, you’re very amazing. So for all of that information, maybe you’d like to take Mum out for the weekend, Mother’s Day, Hi Tea and If. You’ve also of course got Mad Max coming to the big screen and don’t forget also we can go along and see the fantastic movie that is.
08:23
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, which is on the big screen tomorrow. Session details and your tickets on lime That’s lime Lex, great to see you. Great to see you guys. Thanks for having me. You’re going to come back next week, Damo? I’m always here. I don’t know what he’s talking about. Absolutely. He’s weird. No, he’s weird as you, mate. It’s a competition in the studio sometimes. All right, we’re back with more Brachyclub action in a moment. Stay with us.
