Ipswich’s Nicholas Street Precinct continues to thrive, with the addition of two new businesses – a seafood restaurant and a car wash – set to further boost activity in the city heart.

Councillor Pye Augustine, Chairperson of the Economic and Cultural Development Committee, shared her excitement over the latest developments. “I’m thrilled to see such a vote of confidence in the Nicholas Street Precinct and delighted to welcome Kickin’Inn, a premium seafood restaurant with a difference,” she said. Kickin’Inn will occupy space between Stellarossa and Bottle Alley, bringing fresh seafood and street-side dining to the vibrant precinct.

In addition to the restaurant, Sparkles Car Wash will be opening its doors in the Nicholas Street Precinct car park on Bremer Street. “Visitors will soon be able to drop off their car, stroll through the city heart, and enjoy a meal while their car gets a clean,” Cr Augustine added.

Since May, Ipswich City Council has approved six new leases for the precinct, and with these latest businesses finalizing paperwork, the area is set to see increased activity as fit-outs begin.

In even more exciting news for the precinct, Hotel Commonwealth is nearing its opening under AusHotels management, and the highly anticipated HOYTS cinema is also preparing for its fit-out. The Nicholas Street Precinct is quickly becoming a dynamic hub for both business and leisure.

These new arrivals will join existing tenants such as Gelatissimo, Zambrero, Sushi Hyo, That Dumpling Place, Stellarossa, and others, as well as offices like VE Group and the Red Cross.

With over 80% of the commercial space now leased, Cr Augustine expressed optimism about the future, saying, “Council’s vision for a vibrant city heart is coming to fruition, driving jobs, economic benefit, and community spirit into Ipswich’s city centre.”
