It’s a big week at Limelight Cinemas, with music, sport and blockbuster films all making their way to the screen.
The most talked-about event is the extended run of Taylor Swift’s new film, screening until Monday. Special sessions will include a 5am Saturday start to coincide with the release of her latest album. “Saturday 5am is popping off,” said Limelight’s Robbie, encouraging fans to arrive early for the unique event.
Another highlight is The Smashing Machine, the new sports drama starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Emily Blunt. The film, based on the true story of fighter Mark Kerr, is already earning critical acclaim with an 80 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes.
For horror fans, the cinema is also showcasing Him, a chilling new release from the producers of Candyman and Nope. The film follows a sinister football club where “something’s off” — and audiences can expect blood-curdling twists.
Limelight’s popular Crafty Classics series also returns this Friday night with Mean Girls. Guests are encouraged to wear pink and even bring along craft projects such as crochet to work on during the film in the Gold Cinema lounge.
And for sports lovers, the NRL grand finals will be broadcast live on the big screen. Tickets are just $10 and include a medium drink, giving fans the next best experience to being at the stadium.
All session times and tickets are available at limelightcinemas.com.au.
