Experienced line haul truck driver and community advocate Kevin Burns has been announced as the LNP candidate for the seat of Jordan in the upcoming Queensland state election. Burns, who has spent decades driving across Queensland and interstate, is calling for major improvements to road and transport infrastructure after witnessing years of under-investment by the current government.

“Queensland’s roads are critical to the state’s prosperity, and the safety and well-being of our communities,” Burns said. “Our regional roads are some of the most dangerous in the country, after a decade of under-investment by Labor. Every day I hear from Queenslanders who are frustrated by Labor’s neglect in so many critical areas.”

Burns emphasized that the only way to address the challenges facing Queensland—including health, housing, crime, cost of living, and infrastructure—is to bring about a change in government. “It’s time for change, and the only way to tackle these issues is to change the government in October.”

LNP Leader David Crisafulli praised Burns for his dedication to his community, highlighting his volunteer work with the Rural Fire Brigade and his role as a junior football coach at Richlands East Primary School. “Kevin is not only deeply entrenched in his community, but he will also be a fierce advocate for the change his community desperately needs,” Crisafulli said. “We must end Labor’s chaos and crisis, and we can do so with the LNP’s Right Plan for Queensland’s Future.”

Burns’ campaign will focus on improving infrastructure, public safety, and addressing the growing cost-of-living pressures that are impacting families across the state. He promises to be a strong voice for the Jordan community if elected.
